the familiar Wi-Fi, the most common way to connect to the
internet way by the use of the routers which were by then
the default way. Using router you had to dial-up modems that
are very loud.
The wireless connectivity was not just a this system to connect to because it was a tower PC, of the available connects, you had the choice to select which connection you want. Having in mind that internet have become part of life and most solution to our daily question is from the internet, but let’s learn how to access and even enjoy it to the fullest.
Though Wi-Fi is the most convenient way to connect to the internet unlike the Ethernet where to connect to the internet, you must have the internet cables and near an internet port, hence Wi-Fi is much easy. Do you ever find yourself have plugged in your wire network card while still having your Wi-Fi connection enabled? This id to avoid losing the connection when they have stepped away. And therefore let us see the solution to this mess, by simply telling window 10 to always connect to internet via the Ethernet network but also turn and switch to the Wi-Fi connectivity when the cable connection is disabled or removed. Some avoid the situation by setting the Wi-Fi as the default way of connecting to the internet.
Let us first see how we can check the current network card priority, from the command called netstart.
To check the current interface priority there is the command called the netstat that provides you with the priority at the left side of the interface list.
You will be needed to open the new command prompt window and type this command
Netstart –rn | more the | more oart of the command is used to prevent it from going flying off the screen, and hence requiring you to scroll backword.
The window below show what is shown as you type the command to check the current network priority.
You will see the list of interface that will be displayed for you at the top of the output plus a column on the left hand side showing the metric of the interface. From the display you will notice that loopback interface have the highest priority seconded by my wired Gigabit card then thirdly the wireless card. The other cards that appears in the list and we’ve not mentioned about them, they are the VPN software that one loads as well as the VMware workstation, of which all this creates a virtual adapter that is them shown and reflects in the list of the cards.

All the Wi-Fi and also the Ethernet networks listed at the following window screen for you. Tap the alt key to have the all menu available at a view for this window, click at the advanced menu then select the advanced setting.
At the advance setting window all the types of connections will be given in a list at the connection section. Select the type you want for instance the Ethernet, the arrow on the right of te Ethernet helps you to reorder it in a way that Ethernet appears at the top of the others. Once you click at the ok you will have applied to the changes that you have made.
Since you selected the Ethernet, now the window will prefer to use the Ethernet as you have specified to Wi-Fi while you are connected to the internet. The window below is displayed on the advanced setting option on your screen.
Hence you can change the order of this connection type you no longer want to give Ethernet preference over the Wi-Fi connection, but remember that this will not let you go from Ethernet to Wi-Fi if you haven’t disconnected it implies that you will have to turn the Wi-Fi on or off in order to connect to Ethernet network even when the Wi-Fi is on as well.
